At the time of this article, there are many errors with the installer.app, jailbreakme.com, the jailbreaking process, ect. Here is a list of the current problems that I have found and how to fix them. If you have any problems or if you have found a solution to a problem listed here, please send me a message via the contact page.
• Jailbreakme's website is currently down and right now there is no way to access it. I am not sure if this happens frequently but if this is a problem for you, just head over to the JailBreak 1.1.1 page on this website located in the navbar.
• Oktoprep. For those of you trying to get a jailbroken 1.1.2 ipod or iphone this should be a description enough. Jailbreakme claims to have installed it when you install the installer. Because of this false claim, Oktoprep has been removed from the installer.app. To install Oktoprep you must go to sources on installer.app, click edit then add and then type in http://ipodtouchleague.webs.com/repo.xml. Click "ok" then click "refresh" on the installer screen. Now Oktoprep will be avaliable in installer.app.
• For Mac OS X users, when you install 1.1.2 software then go through the jailbreaking process you will just get a recovery screen. To get rid of this, download Independence.dmg and just double click it.
• No 1.1.3 Official Upgrader. I have heard about a lot of people having this problem so I thought I should clarify it. If there is no 1.1.3 Official Upgrader in your installer.app already, add http://ipodtouchleague.webs.com/repo.xml to your sources by tapping "sources" then "edit", then "add".
• For Mac OS X users there is a new problem that arrived with the release of iTunes version 7.6.1. By all means, I recommend you to update but for jailbreaking iphone or ipod touch 1.1.2, you will need to update your Indepenence.dmg application. You can get the new version from the download page on this site.
• Many people have been reporting to me that whenever they try to download the Ziphone application for the mac, they get a screen full of code. To fix this, on your Firefox browser hold the "control" key and click on the link then go down to "save link as".
